Town of Lancaster Parks & Recreation to Offer Family Swim
The Town of Lancaster Parks & Recreation Department will once again offer Family Swim on Friday evenings beginning Friday, September 23, 2011 and ending on Friday, May 11, 2012. The program runs from 7:30pm – 9:30pm. at the Lancaster High School Pool located at 1 Forton Drive.
This is a recreational swim for families. A lane marker is installed for those family members who wish to do laps. Water basketball, fins, noodles, kickboards and balls are available.
Families may sign up in the pool area on Friday, September 23 and thereafter. You must be a Town of Lancaster resident or a Lancaster School District resident to participate in the program. For more information, call the Recreation office at 684-3320.

Senior Swim
Town of Lancaster Offers Senior Swim
The Town of Lancaster Parks & Recreation Department will offer a Senior Citizens Swim which will be held at the Lancaster High School pool. This program will begin on Saturday, October 8, 2011 and run through May 5, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Senior Citizens 60 years and older who resided in the Town of Lancaster or the Lancaster School District are eligible to participate. You must have a Senior Citizens ID card or if you are a Lancaster School District resident, you must show your license.

Heritage Trail Closed During Hunting Season
The Town of Lancaster Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department will close the Heritage Trail from Saturday, November 19 until Tuesday, December 20 for your safety during hunting season. The Heritage Trail will re-open on Wednesday, December 21.

Town of Lancaster Recreation Offers Wrestling Program
The Town of Lancaster Recreation Department will once again offer a wrestling program for all Town of Lancaster residents and Lancaster school district residents. The program will begin on Monday, December 8 with a mandatory parent meeting and run through Thursday, March 22, 2012. Wrestlers will meet on Mondays and Thursdays. Interested boys in kindergarten through 8th grade may register at the Lancaster Recreation office located at 525 Pavement Road or online at www.lancasterny.gov Registration deadline is Friday, December 2, 2011. COED KICKBALL FOR SUMMER OF 2012
The Town of Lancaster Parks and Recreation Department is looking for interested teams to form an adult coed kickball league for the summer of 2012. The league would play on Friday evenings starting in May-June, with the season running until August. Games would be played at 6:30 and 7:30 pm. Registration will be held in February 2012 for interested teams. League space however, is limited for the first year.

PHONE ONLY PICNIC RESERVATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR LANCASTER PARKS
The Town of Lancaster Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department will begin accepting picnic reservations for the 2012 picnic season on Monday, February 6 at 8:00am. Reservations are restricted to Town of Lancaster residents and are by phone only. There is a limit of one reservation per person.
The picnic shelters are located at Keysa Town Park, Meadow Lea Park, Walden Pond Park and Westwood Park.

begins hiring for summer of 2012
The Town of Lancaster Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department is now accepting applications for the summer of 2012. Summer positions for lifeguards, playground attendants, tennis instructors and maintenance personnel are available. Applicants must be a resident of the Town of Lancaster, eighteen years of age and a high school graduate (with the exception of lifeguard applicants who must be 16 years of age or older).
The application deadline is Friday, March 9, 2012. Applications are available at Town Hall, 21 Central Avenue and the Recreation Department, 525 Pavement Road, Lancaster.
