Town of Lancaster Parks & Recreation to Offer Family Swim
The Town of Lancaster Parks & Recreation Department will once again offer Family Swim on Friday evenings beginning Friday, September 26, 2008 and ending on Friday, May 8, 2009. The program runs from 7:30pm - 9:30pm. at the Lancaster High School Pool located at 1 Forton Drive.
This is a recreational swim for families. A lane marker is installed for those family members who wish to do laps: water basketball, fins, noodles, kickboards and balls are available.
Families may sign up in the pool area on Friday, September 26 and thereafter. You must be a Town of Lancaster resident or a Lancaster School District resident to participate in the program. For more information, call the Recreation office at 684-3320.

Town of Lancaster Recreation Offers Men's Basketball Program
The Town of Lancaster Parks & Recreation Department will kick off the Men's Choose-Up Basketball program beginning Monday, September 29 at the Lancaster Middle School gym. The program will run from 6:30pm to 9:00pm each Monday through April 6, 2009. This program is available to all Town of Lancaster and Lancaster Central School district residents, 18 years of age and older.
The Department prefers that you have a Town Recreation Photo ID card to participate in the program. To obtain a Recreation ID you must come to the Recreation office located at 525 Pavement Road with two items showing proof of residency (driver's license, current utility bill, Board of Elections card, etc.). There is not a cost for the ID cards and they are good for two years. Additionally, you must be under contract to participate in the program.

Lancaster Recreation Adult Volleyball Registration to Begin
The Lancaster Parks & Recreation Department will begin registration for its winter Men's, Women's and Co-ed volleyball leagues starting Thursday September 25, 2008. Registration will run until Friday October 3, 2008. Teams from the 2007-2008 season will be contacted by mail. New teams and those seeking more information on Lancaster Recreation volleyball can call the Recreation office at 684-3320.

Town of Lancaster Youth Basketball Registration Begins
The Town of Lancaster Parks & Recreation Department would like to announce its reorganized Youth Basketball Program. We are proud to welcome a new staff of recreation professionals with 40 plus years of experience in organizing recreational basketball leagues. This program will be extremely structured in nature. All age groups will play at the Lancaster Middle School beginning Thursday, December 4 for the Girls program and Saturday, December 6 for the Boys program. Time and location may change depending on the number of participants.
There will be limited numbers in each age group. Please sign up early. Applications are available online at www.lancasterny.gov For more information call the recreation office at 684-3320.

Town of Lancaster Recreation Offers Wrestling Program
The Town of Lancaster Recreation Department will once again offer a wrestling program for all Town of Lancaster residents and Lancaster school district residents. The program will begin on Monday, January 26 and run through Thursday, March 19. Wrestlers will meet every Monday and Thursday from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 for the first week. After that, the wrestlers will be split into two sessions. Sessions will be determined by age and experience. Interested boys in kindergarten through 8th grade may register at the Lancaster Recreation office located at 525 Pavement Road or online at www.lancasterny.gov Registration deadline is Friday, January 23. LANCASTER RECREATION LOOKING FOR SOFTBALL TEAMS
The Town of Lancaster Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department will soon be registering softball teams for the upcoming 2009 season. Why not get some friends together and come out and join our leagues? Friendship, competition, and the love of a game we all played in our younger days will make for a summer of memories.
Lancaster Recreation is actively seeking teams for it's adult men's leagues. The league is open to those 18 and over. Some residency rules do apply, so for more information call the Recreation Department at 684-3320.
The league will do formal registration at the end of March.

Town of Lancaster Recreation Offers "Beat the Winter Blues"
The Town of Lancaster Recreation Department will once again offer "Beat the Winter Blues". This free event will be held on Saturday morning, March 14, from 9:00am - 11:00am. at Westwood Park. Beat the Winter Blues is a part of Lancaster- Depew Family Asset Building Month.
Come in your pajamas or something comfortable and enjoy a fun filled Saturday morning around the fireplace playing family board games. All ages welcome. A free Continental Breakfast will be served.

Town of Lancaster Recreation Offers Early Fall/Winter Basketball Registration
The Town of Lancaster Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department will offer an early registration for the 2009-2010 Fall/Winter Basketball season from now until April 3, 2009. Registration is limited to 40 participants in the Bantam Division (6-8 Years old) and Senior Divison (15-17 years old) while a maximum of 80 participants will be allowed to participate in the Midget and Junior Conferences.
You must be a resident of the Town of Lancaster or the Lancaster School District to participate in the program. A $10 registration fee which includes a reversible jersey is due at the time of registration. A mail in registration form can be found on our website which is www.lancasterny.gov or by calling the Recreation office at 684-3320.

Town of Lancaster Offers Senior Swim
The Town of Lancaster Parks & Recreation Department will offer a Senior Citizens Swim which will be held at the Lancaster High School pool. This program will begin on Saturday, October 10 and run through May 8, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Senior Citizens 60 years and older who resided in the Town of Lancaster or the Lancaster School District are eligible to participate. You must have a Senior Citizens ID card or if you are a Lancaster School District resident, you must show your license.

Town of Lancaster Recreation Boys Basketball Bantam League Openings
The Town of Lancaster Parks & Recreation Department has a few openings left in the Bantam Boys Youth Basketball Program for ages 6,7 & 8 years old. There are 11openings in the 10:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. time slot and 8 openings in the 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. on Saturdays beginning on November 14 and running until March 27, 2010. The program will be held at the Como Park Elementary School.
